AFI Awards 2014 {My Quick Picks!}

The American Film Institute’s Award Luncheon is attended by Hollywood’s biggest stars, but does not welcome as much press as many of the other award shows. This event honors their choices of the top 10 in film and television from the previous year. Here are a few of my favorite looks from todays event.

People’s Choice Awards 2014 {The Best, The Worst & In-between}

So I am still feeling quite ill, and I am writing this post in my jammies under my covers — but hey, at least I am back to the land of the {somewhat} living. The doctors couldn’t prescribe me with anything, and now I know why. All I needed was Beyonce’s “Blow” {my Gettin’-Better-Anthem} blaring and the start of awards season. Hopefully this is me actually feeling better, and not me fooling myself like I did on NYE.

So here we go…

People’s Choice Awards are the first major award show of the season. They are most definitely more casual than some of the others. I really enjoy this because the outfits can be more fun and in some cases less stuffy. Plus what other award shows have Wendy’s Frostys backstage?!?

I really want to love this Max Azria dress, however it makers her look a little frumpy. I love the black on nude with the geometric shapes and the beautiful pleating. And it actually looks like something I would pick out, but something isn’t right here. Sometimes gorgeous dresses don’t work out once they are on.

A Gatsby New Years

So I am finally starting to feel better, which is perfect – just in time for 2014! The last way I want to start my new year is by lying in bed defeated by the death plague, or whatever this horrible thing was. So I go from lounging in bed with OJ and Dimetapp to sipping on champagne and dancing the night away in ways only Jay Gatsby would be accustomed.
