We know, summer is hot. All we want to be wearing is our swimsuit at the beach, but we still have to go to the office on those pesky days between the beach days! Dressing for work may be a challenge, so here are some fantastic looks — plus some of them can go from day to night!
The Chambray Dress
Chambray is the perfect Summer look! It can be a great casual look, or dressed up a bit! Red is such a fun color to pair with the dusty blue of chambray — keeping the accessories simple creates such a fresh look! Plus, we all love a great fit at the natural waistline, with a touch of fullness below!

The Midi Skirt
By now I am sure you have seen the midi everywhere you look! But we love it, because it’s such a fantastic look. Because of the fit at the natural waist {once again} and then the flare, it can actually make you look 10lbs lights! {Bonus!} This look is so bright a cheerful! I love mint and vibrant orange paired together! I woule loosely tuck the top into the skirt, to keep that fitted waist.

The Crop Top
Some people may question the crop top for the work place. I think it can make for a very classy look — as long as it is styled properly. I would suggest going for a boxier crop, and layering it under a jacket. Here we have it under a sleeveless blazer for a bit of an edgier look. Pair this with a high-waisted skirt, or trousers {seen here} and you will be ready for work!

White Denim
I love pairing white denim with chambray. It creates the perfect clean look, and is ready for a few accent pops! Here we have styled this Anna Field white denim pencil skirt with tan shoes and belt, a chunky necklace and bangles. I love the pop of coral in the Nail Polish!

Mixing Prints
I love mixing prints! It gives your outfit that extra little punch. Previously we talked about some great guidelines on how to mix prints with ease {here.} The key to this look, is working with proportions. The TOPSHOP top, although a stripe, is the larger print, and can be paired with the small print of the Thomas Rath trousers. Â The accessories are all geometric as a nod to the prominent print mixing of the look.

The Tulle Skirt
Tulle is one of the epitomes of femininity. No longer is it only for ballerinas! Paired with an Aztec print and strappy flat sandals allows this skirt to be more accessible. Another style option would be to wear a white button up shirt with short sleeves, and tie up the shirt in the front. With this change I would opt for a short heel with a pop of color!

The Printed Pastel Suit
One of the most crisp and fun looks is a printed suit, or co-ordinates. Pastel prints work perfectly for a summer look! Because of the all-over print, keep the top simple. Here we have a peach cami with the powder blue suit. This leaves room for a fabulous statement necklace.

Khaki Green
Once again we have the midi skirt. Styled here with a tie-front cropped tank, which works perfectly, because of the high waist silhouette. This look is easy, while still looking very put together. With khaki typically being on the more neutral side, it allows us to play with complimentary colors for the bag and nail polish!

The Suited Shorts
Shorts are a summer staple, and as a coordinate can be perfect for the workplace. The jacket is a touch longer than a typical suit jacket. This proportion with the shorts create a perfectly polished look. The geometric beaded detail of the suit, has been drawn into the lines of the blouse. Picking shoes with an ankle detail is a great look to go with shorts.

The Shirtdress
The shirtdress is a clean and classic look that works well for summer. If you choose a white dress it is basically a fresh canvas for you accessory color story of your choosing. Here we worked in fresh pastels. *Sidenote: I just bough a bunch of the new Benefit Lip Balm — I am in LOVE! {Cha Cha Balm is one of 4!} *

The Wrap Dress
One of the most classic and sophisticated looks is the Wrap Dress. Which we all love, because it is such an easy look. We owe thanks to Diane von Furstenburg for this beauty.  This year marks the 40th Anniversary of DVF’s wrap dress! The natural V of the neckline allows for a beautiful statement necklace, otherwise, especially with this print, keep the rest of the accessories simple and classic.
