My Skincare Picks

One thing I am very passionate about, is great skincare products. I have been afflicted with extremely sensitive skin for as long as I can remember. However, it doesn’t end there. When asked by a cosmetician at a boutique, they receive quite the list of my skin condition woes. On top of my sensitive skin, I have equal parts combination, on any given day my skin could be exceptionally dry, or incredibly oily, or some combination of the afore mentioned. And to top it all off I have rosacea that loves to make an appearance.  So there you have it, not that you asked, but now can you see why the passion for skincare?

Here are my current picks for skincare:

Triple Performing Facial Emulsion

One of my great loves is Benefit Cosmetics. I have a fantastic collection of there makeup, so I thought I would venture into their skin care. Benefit has done it again! This sheer facial emulsion is oil-free and has SPF15 as well as a broad-spectrum blend of UVA & UVB filters. And just as everything they do, it comes in super cute packaging, to dress up you medicine cabinet!

Brightening Cleansing Foam

This summer I was introduced to Shiseido‘s skincare line. The lovely ladies at the Shopper’s Drug Mart Cosmetic Boutique, always shower me in the latest samples! I was given the sample for Shiseido’s Pureness Line, and I was in love at first wash! I did not know my skin could feel so clean and fresh! However, when I went to go purchase the entire line, I got chatting with the cosmetician (which inevitably happens everytime) and she was telling me all about each of the lines. When she got to the part about anti-wrinkles and brightness of the White Lucent line, I was sold!

The cleansing foam is perfectly gentle, removes all impurities while protecting skin’s moisture. It leaves skin with the feeling of clarity, a fantastic sensation. What more could I want from a cleanser? … Nothing, the answer is nothing!

Brightening Balancing Softener Enriched

This was an exciting new member of my daily skincare regime. The brightening softening lotion creates a luminous complexion, and truly “Enhances the benefits of your moisturizer.” I find that it leaves my skin feeling balanced, with a healthy glow.

The added bonus of this softener, is the discovery of the most fantastic facial cotton pads. Say goodbye to the rough and irritating cotton pads we used for toners and all other skincare, these bad boys feel like little mini cloud pillows caressing your face — seriously!

Brightening Moisturizing Emulsion

Starting to notice a trend here? I told you I was won over by Sheseido! This I use as my nighttime moisturizer. It this emulsion revitalizes skin after the rough and tumble of you day. Your skin goes through a lot in a day, and this is the nighttime defence. Once again it is just adding to skin’s radiance!

Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream

So one other skin problem I forgot to mention, are the dark circles that have set up camp under my eyes. This is a biggy for a lot of women, can be from diet, stress, lack of sleep, environment, or *shudders* age. I have heard many people suggest this eye cream for dark circles, including my little sis, and since I was already buying the rest of the line, I thought why the heck not! I am happy to say that this eye cream kicks dark circles in the ass!

A bunch of fancy talk explains how it combats the 2 major causes of dark circles: “pigmented melanin formulation (brown circles) and poor micro-circulation (blue circles) and defies dark circles by inhibiting melanin production, fading existing pigmentation and improving micro-circulation.” BOTTOM LINE = it works! (Women rejoice!)

Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes

I love the quick and easy convenience of moist towelettes for easy makeup removal! My old roommate swore by all things Yes to Carrots, when I saw they had a Cucumber line for those of us with sensitive skin, I thought I would check them out. These are the best ones I have found for sensitive skin! They are made with organic cucumbers, aloe vera and green tea. The ingredients are 98% natural and are cruelty free! (Bunnies rejoice!)
