Throwback Thursday: Full House Fashion

Everywhere you look… fashion plays a part. At least this is the case for the classic family TV sitcom ‘Full House.’ Off the air for almost 20 years, the show’s style covered the late 80s to the mid 90s. 2 power players on the fashion scene got their start in style on this show. Mary-Kate and Ashley, revealed last year that they were outfitted in pared down versions of the latest Chanel and Marc Jacobs pieces.

Mad Men Withdrawal…

So it’s Sunday, and I love the things that come with Sundays; brunch, farmer’s markets, dinner with friends, and Mad Men. It has only been a week and I am already experiencing major withdrawal. I cannot believe we have to wait another year to see how the final season plays out. And I may have kinda jumped the gun on Netflix binging on the entire series to tide me over. {Whoops!}

So as we are left waiting I say we focus on the good! All the amazing fashion Mad Men has given us over the years.

The bad gal Pink Ladies and goody two-shoes Sandra Dee make for great contrast of costumes! Summer Lovin’ got me a great midi skirt and a bad ass red lip!

This movie, from 1993, takes place on the last day of school in 1973. It has such a fun cast, including Ben Affleck, Matthew McConaughey, Parker Posey, Jeremy London and Milla Jovovich. The film is fantastic, because not only do we get boho chic fashion, freshman hazing and other debauchery, but we get THAT haircut on Matthew McConaughey!

Set in 1954, this is the first film on the list that is set in the same era that it was made! Grace Kelly, a fashion icon in her own right, was perfectly on point in this film thanks to the renowned Edith Head. The 50s were fashion’s home to one of the most fabulous silhouettes, the fit and flare. Images of Grace can’t help but flood our minds when we think of this decade’s style. As the dramatic Hitchcock thriller plays out, we cannot help but be enthralled with Lisa Freemont’s wardrobe. I kind of wish we could see in her closet, as she is known to “never wears the same dress twice,” according to Jimmy Stewart!
